Default install location:
C:\Program Files\550Performance LLC\ECU Tool Kit\Windows Defender / SmartScreen Notice
During beta or early release, Windows may show a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning such as “Windows protected your PC” or “Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting.” This can happen with new software that has not yet built enough download reputation, even when the installer is legitimate.
Only continue if you downloaded ECU Tool Kit directly from 550Performance or from a link provided by 550Performance.
To continue installation:
- When the SmartScreen window appears, click More info.
- Confirm the app name is the ECU Tool Kit installer.
- Click Run anyway to continue.
Microsoft documents SmartScreen as a security feature that checks apps and files and may allow users to bypass warnings depending on system policy. Some company or school-managed PCs may block this option entirely. Learn more from Microsoft .
Hardware Notes
A supported ECU communication interface is required for ECU communication, flashing, and related functions. Some USB interfaces may require a Windows driver before use.
